Where to Start with Jeralyn Glass: A Beginner's Guide

Jeralyn Glass is a singer, meditation teacher and sound healing practitioner who calls herself a "crystal singing bowl master alchemist." She founded Crystal Cadence in Los Angeles, home of the Los Angeles Crystal Tones Singing Bowl Temple, a studio holding more than 600 Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls. Her recorded catalog is small and easy to navigate. She has no books listed, and I won't point you to talks or videos I can't verify. Start with the records.

The Best Entry Point

Begin with Pentatonic Visions: A Journey Through Crystalline Landscapes (2024). It's a 16-track album, the fullest statement in her catalog, and it shows you what she does: crystalline sound shaped by classical musical training. The subtitle tells you the intent. This is meant as a journey, so play it as a whole rather than skipping around. Give it one uninterrupted sitting at low volume, ideally with headphones or good speakers, since the material is built around tone and resonance rather than hooks.

Where to Go Next

The Crystalline Sounds of the Earth (2023). Her earlier album has only three tracks, so it's a more compact experience and a good test of whether the format suits you. If Pentatonic Visions felt like a lot, this is the gentler way in.

Om Symphony: Channeling Inner Peace (2024 single). The title points to meditation, so use it that way: sit with it as a single continuous piece rather than background music.

Joy Reboot (July 2024 single). Her most recent release in the catalog. After the longer pieces, it's a good way to hear where she's heading.

If you want more, Celestial Tapestry (January 2024) and Five Twenty Eight Regenerate (2023) are both single-track releases. Treat them as optional extras once you know your taste.

What to Expect

Expect sustained, resonant tones rather than songs in the usual verse-chorus sense. Her work sits at the meeting point of classical music, meditation and what she calls high vibrational sound. Her stated idea is "music as medicine," and her bio frames the aim as stillness of mind, deep relaxation and a grounded sense of wholeness. She has said structure matters in making effective healing sound, which is why the studio is named Crystal Cadence. So listen for composition and arrangement, not just ambience.

Pacing will feel slow if you're used to playlists. The first few minutes are often about settling in, not about anything happening to you.

Common Beginner Misunderstandings

Treating it as background music. It can work that way, but your first listen will tell you more if you give it attention.

Expecting an instant effect. Listening is a practice, not a trick. Some sessions will feel like nothing, and that's normal.

Assuming it's one thing. She's a singer, a teacher and a practitioner. The recordings are one slice of a larger body of work that includes sound healing sessions, private mentoring, voice lessons that integrate the bowls, and a training program, The Sacred Science of Sound, which runs over 120 hours. Streaming her albums is not the same as attending a live session, and neither is a substitute for medical care.

Skipping the physical element. Crystal bowls are as much about vibration in a room as about recorded audio. Good playback matters, and live sound is a different experience from a stream.

When It Lands Hardest

This work tends to land during transitions and overload: a stretch of burnout, a period of heavy screen time and noise, the hour before sleep, or the start of a new meditation habit. It also suits people who already like classical or ambient music and want something more spacious. If your life is calm and you're mainly after energy or entertainment, it may land softly.

A One-Week Starter Plan

Day 1: Play Pentatonic Visions start to finish, evening, with no phone in hand. Just note how you feel afterward.

Day 2: Revisit only the first few tracks of Pentatonic Visions, and sit quietly for ten minutes.

Day 3: Listen to Om Symphony: Channeling Inner Peace as a short meditation, eyes closed.

Day 4: Play The Crystalline Sounds of the Earth, all three tracks, while walking or doing something low-effort.

Day 5: Listen to Joy Reboot in the morning and notice whether it changes how the day begins.

Day 6: Go back to whichever piece resonated most, and listen on the best speakers or headphones you have.

Day 7: Choose your next step. Try Celestial Tapestry or Five Twenty Eight Regenerate, or look into a live session at Crystal Cadence if you want to hear the bowls in person.

Keep a two-line note each day: what you noticed, and when you were distracted. By day seven you'll know whether this is a record you admire or a practice you want to keep.
